Why is everybody cursing nowadays? It seems like the “F-word” has become part of everyday language, and no one seems to care.   You watch a movie nowadays, and all you hear is “F-word” this,” F-word” that throughout the film.  I reached the point where I couldn’t finish a movie because the “F-word” was used in most of the script.   I don’t have a problem with the word, but I don’t need to hear it multiple times in a sentence.  What does cursing add to a movie other than the fact that an actor can curse? Can’t we use another word or not use it at all?

Why is there so much cursing in movies

I decided to do an internet search on cursing in movies and was surprised at the results.  The results were fascinating because cursing builds the character’s social status, makes the content more realistic when the character is upset or excited, and lets the audience know how strong and intelligent the main character is. Need I say more?

The F-Word and Politicians

Nowadays, it seems to be the go-to word for politicians.  They tell each other and the media to “F off” and “F themselves”.  It’s hard to believe that people representing the United States talk like that.  Is this how they were raised?  I understand that they don’t always agree with each other, but do they have to tell each other to “F off”?  I really think they should be held accountable and stop cursing each other out.  Show some respect!  Politicians should see what they look like when they are cursing on television.  It is not a good look.  If I were running for office, I would have a commercial showing the candidate cursing repeatedly.  It shouldn’t be hard to find!

As a politician, you decided to run for office.  As a representative of the United States, you are obliged to talk to your constituents and the media.  You chose to run for office; therefore, the people and the media will want to speak to you! Speaking to your constituents and the media is part of the job.  If you feel that you do not have to answer your constituents, then I would suggest you step down.  You do not have the right to tell people to “F off,” because you are too privileged to represent them.  You made an oath to represent the United States, so do it!  Stop acting like a spoiled brat and do your job!

Does cursing make them look tough or let the other party know they don’t care?  It’s time for them to start respecting each other and get to work.  If they spent as much time working as they do cursing each other out, think of how much they could accomplish.   I guess calling people names and cursing is a better use of time.

Can politicians stop cursing

I would recommend that each politician take a deep look at themselves.  Look in the mirror and ask yourself, “Am I doing right by the United States?”  Be honest and write down the good you have done for this country.  Also, ask, “Am I a good person?”  Do I help or want to help people, or is it just about me?  If you find you are more interested in yourself, it’s not too late to change.  Not only will your constituents benefit, but you will too!  Nothing feels better than doing something good for someone else.

I, too, am using the “F-word” too much and must stop.  Recently, I started to count how many times a person says the “F-word” in a conversation, and it’s a lot.  Yes, it is becoming part of everyday language.  It’s not just politicians; people say it or give the finger every day.   I’m unsure if giving the finger is much better, but at least they are not saying the word.

What has happened to America?   Can we go back to a time when we cared about each other?  Let’s all join together and stop cursing!
