What is going on with the Democrats’ message? Do they even have a message, or are they trying to figure one out? It seems like they are all heading in different directions, trying to see what resonates with the public.
At this point, who is the leader and what direction are they taking? Currently, it seems all they are trying to do is destroy Trump. Their strategy is to take Trump to court for every executive order he signs and badmouth him. Everything he does, they claim, is unconstitutional, a threat to our democracy, and that people are going to die. They insist that no matter what Trump does, the economy and the people are going to suffer.
So far, the economy is looking pretty good. The second quarter GDP was 3%. Also, for the first time since 2017, the government had a $27 billion surplus in June. Unemployment increased in July; however, most of the losses were among Government Employees, which cost taxpayers money. Companies are expanding, and foreign companies are setting up headquarters in the US. He has lowered taxes as promised. There will be no tax on tips, tax cuts will stay in place, and senior citizens will also save money.
What I don’t understand is why they keep going after Trump? They have been trying to destroy him for 10 years and have failed. The more they talk about him, the worse it gets for them. Why don’t they just figure out what they want to represent and do it? I understand that they don’t like him. That’s okay. Trump is winning, and they are losing. They need to move on from Trump and determine their desired direction. Once they figure it out, they can start to rebuild.
Who is the leader of the Democrats?
Many Democrats are vying to become the new leader. Who will it be? Every week, it seems news players are aiming for the leadership role.
First, you have Zohran Mamdani, a socialist, who appears to be on the verge of entering the office. If he does, will the Democrats move even further left and support his policies? Will his policies further damage the Democrats when he fails in NYC?
There is no way he can implement his plan without bringing down NYC economically. Most likely, Wall Street will probably move out of NYC to a more friendly state. It’s already happening; the rich are moving. Why stay in NYC when other states would love to have them?
Secondly, he wants to dismantle the Strategic Response Group (SRG), which responds to emergencies, riots, and crowd control. No worries, once he sets up the Department of Community Safety in its place, everyone will be safer. Not sure how talking to people will stop criminals. Just like no bail doesn’t lower crime. There is no reason not to do it again when someone is not punished for their action. It is called human nature.
But no worries, you will have government-run grocery stores, which will put other grocery stores out of business. Grocery stores have a 1%-3% profit, and if the government runs one, it controls the rent and the price; they can’t compete. However, the government-run stores will not survive very long. Just look at Sun Fresh in Kansas City. It is a government-run supermarket and has costs the taxpayers $29 million. They should close, but the city council just allocated more money to it. I don’t know why, when the shelves are empty and few people shop there.
Cory Booker and Eric Swalwell
Second, Cory Booker is an angry man. He hates Trump, and I think he hates his fellow Democrats, too. He talked for 25 hours on the Senate floor. I wasn’t always sure what he was talking about, but I think he was just trying to prove he could lead. He had prepared himself for this for days, so he didn’t have to eat or take a bathroom break. Then last week, he went all out on his colleagues for siding with Trump. He ran for president in 2020, so this might be a test to see if he should run again in 2028. Could you imagine his speeches if he became president? The media would have to schedule breaks.
Third is Eric Swalwell. I would think after Fang-Fang, he would have moved on. Instead, he creates an Internet video about not working, because the Republicans are withholding the Epstein files. He is opting to swim and work out at the gym instead of meeting with his constituents. Wouldn’t that be a better use of time? Odd that he never mentioned releasing the Epstein files under the Biden Administration, or for the 12 years he has been in office. Maybe he did say something, but I couldn’t find any evidence of it, at least not until after Trump took office.
Then he goes from bad to worse and challenges Greg Gutfeld to a bench press contest. He posted, “If tough guy benches more than me for 10 reps, I’ll leave Congress. If not, he leaves Fox News. I’ll give Greg 48 hrs to accept, then I’m calling him GUTLESSfeld.”
Let’s see, Gutfeld is 60 years old, about 5’7” tall, and weighs about 160 lbs. Eric Swalwell is 44 years old, about 6’ tall, and probably weighs about 200 lbs. or more. There is no way Gutfeld can bench press more than him. It was obvious he knew he would win.
He also tried to run for president in 2020. Could he be running again in 2028?
What is the Democrats’ plan?
From what I am reading, I don’t see a Democrat plan. They are so busy trying to outdo each other that they have lost focus on their party. They need to establish the direction they want to take the party and determine how to proceed. If they’re going to take the direction of Mamdani, then do it. If they want to be a more moderate party, then do it. Get together and figure it out. You can’t keep having loose cannons trying to take over the party. It makes you look worse.
Your poll numbers continue to decline, and they are only going to get worse. Democrats should start by examining the narrative they are presenting to the public. Write down what they have been supporting and how the public feels about it. Start there!
To be continued….
