What Democratic policies went wrong in the last 4 years? Are they so confident in their actions that people will catch on and support them? Why are they continuing down the same path that lost them the election in 2024?
Let’s look at some of the policies they supported and continue to support.
Climate Change
They believe that if we don’t stop releasing CO2 into the environment, we will no longer exist. So, they passed “The Inflation Reduction Act” to help us live longer. The Act provided tax deductions for EVs and other clean energy and technology, such as wind and solar. It also invested in clean energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. They aimed to phase out fossil fuel use on public land, eliminate new fossil fuel permits, and halt exports of oil and gas products. They also impose numerous regulations, which result in consumers paying more for a product that is less functional.
Within a year, the price of U.S. gas increased by 62%, and natural gas prices rose by more than 40%. It was supposed to create over 9 million jobs, but I wonder how many were added and where they are now.
The average consumer’s electricity bill increased about 30% under the Biden Administration. This was due to promoting renewable energy, implementing new regulations, and promoting EVs. If everyone drove an EV, it would most likely overload the power grid. The infrastructure is not ready to go fully electric, which needs to be done first. They knew this but pushed the agenda anyway.
Electric vehicles use six times more mineral inputs than an Internal combustion engine vehicle. The batteries are made from toxic and flammable materials, making them difficult to dispose of.
The Democrats’ strong belief in Green Energy led them to release 180 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve before the 2022 midterms. If renewable energy were so cheap and going to bring down electricity prices, why did they need to release oil to keep prices down? To get reelected!
DEI
I believe part of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative was intended to compensate for the underperforming schools. What better way to hide the lack of education, especially in lower-income big cities?
By determining college or university acceptance based on checking boxes. The process eliminates the actual grades of a student. If you are accepting students based on their ethic group, gender, and race, there is no need to look at grades. The same thing applies to a job opening. If they are hiring based on ethnicity, gender, or race, why even look at a resume or interview them for a job? The same holds true for promotions.
It all comes back to education. Why are schools passing students who are not proficient in reading or writing at their grade level? The Teachers’ Union insists they are all about children. However, when you have cities in which students are graduating and can barely read, write, or do math, something is wrong. For example, a high school teacher from Patterson High School in Baltimore City revealed that 77% of the students are reading at an elementary school level. The school has a yearly $12 million budget. $12 million a year, and students can’t read at a high school level. Where is the Teachers’ Union? Where is the outrage from the Democrats?
During COVID, they shut down schools for 2 years and wanted to keep them closed longer. They had no problem collecting a paycheck while doing Zoom classes and having the parents fill in the gaps. Note that not all teachers were involved, and some had no choice but to comply with the Teachers’ Union’s instructions. Their hands were tied. I think most teachers are good and want to teach students. But like any field, you always have rotten eggs.
DEI is one of the main problems with Democrats and men. Men were discriminated against and couldn’t get promoted or jobs, because they didn’t check all the boxes. All job should be based on your skills, not your skin color or gender.
They continue to degrade men and tell them they cannot be masculine, and they should act more like women. They should not hold executive positions, especially if they are white. Interesting that most of the people pushing this narrative are white, rich men.
LGBTQ+
LGBTQ+ really put the nail in the coffin for the Democrats’ support of men. There is nothing wrong with a man wanting to become a woman or a woman wanting to become a man. “Be you!”
They allowed men to compete in women’s sports, insisting they are women. Instead of adding a new division for transgender athletes, they decided transgender women athletes were on par with women. They concluded that there were no differences.
Men genetically have larger hearts and lungs due to the oxygen demands of more muscle mass. They are usually taller than women and have greater muscle density due to higher testosterone levels. There is a difference. Democrats didn’t care; men can be women was the talking point, and if you disagreed, you are racist.
Not only did they lose men because of these beliefs, but women, too. Women do not want men in their sports. It’s the reason why we have a men’s and women’s division. Women are losing awards and scholarships to the transgender community.
They could have supported LGBTQ+, for there is nothing wrong with them. They are people and deserve to live their lives as they please. It would have been easy to fix by adding another division.
The Border
Democrats insisted the border was closed. Alejandro Mayorkas, Secretary of Homeland Security, said that “The border is secure and not open,” while hundreds crossed over daily. It was all over the news, at least on some channels. The Biden administration also expanded the CBP app that allowed immigrants to sign up to come to the U.S. on the taxpayers’ dime and without proper entry documentation. They had no idea who was coming in and didn’t care. They just called you a racist if you disagreed with them.
Immigration is good for the U.S but must be done the proper way. Yes, it should be fixed, but you need to do background checks and know who is coming in.
The Biden Administration insisted that we needed a bill to fix the border, which essentially meant spending more money. Not sure why we needed a bill when Trump fixed the border in a week.
Do the Democrats even care about the Americans who were killed, raped, robbed, or hurt by some of these people? I know most of them aren’t bad, but they should come to the US the right way.
Education
The Teachers Union has failed my schools. High school graduates struggle to read at a 12th-grade level. They also struggle to write or perform math at grade level. Instead of fixing the education, Democrats throw more money at it, and think money will make kids learn.
We should also examine the salaries of some teachers’ unions and how they have failed the students. The president, Rhona Weingarten, makes $500,000 a year—no wonder she doesn’t want the Education Department to close.

They also spent $277,056,624 in fiscal year 2024, and kids are still behind. I feel for the teachers who are paying into this fund.
Lower-income cities are the most affected by the poor school system. Therefore, they have few opportunities to get a better job or even go to college. Every student should have the opportunity to learn and should not graduate until they are ready. I know some of the issues stem from students not wanting to learn, but many do want to learn.
The situation has become so dire that students are now suing the school districts. I know AI apps like Chat-GPT are being used to write papers. These apps also do homework. But aren’t there in-class tests with essays to see if students can read or write? Things have changed with the internet, especially with AI. Schools need to adapt, and one effective way to do this is to verify whether a paper was written by AI and conduct in-class tests.
Defund the Police
Defunding the police started back in 2014, after the killing of Michael Brown by police in Ferguson, Missouri. It gained more traction after the death of George Floyd in 2020. Many protested and looted when the cities were shut down during COVID. You could not go to a restaurant, theater, or have a social gathering. Or attend a sports event. However, you could be around hundreds of people protesting. The democrats and the liberal media were telling people you are not allowed to congregate, but you can protest. Not sure how that works; a virus is a virus and doesn’t care what you are doing.
Since Covid, many Democratic cities have seen an increase in crime, and now they are dealing with the fallout. Instead of backing the police and trying to reduce crime, they ignore it. They are now saying that stopping crime in Washington, DC, is a threat to democracy and racist. Instead of trying to reduce crime, they get private security guards for themselves.
In July 2025, they increased funding for themselves, which increased home security from $10,000 a year to $20,000 and provided $5,000 a month for personal protection. How much do you get from the government to protect yourself?
What they need to do
Democrats need to start looking at where they went wrong, instead of going down the same path. There are still moderate Democrats out there, and they should let them lead.
Focus on improving the lives of American citizens. Stop trying to give everything away for free. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Someone must pay for it.
Look at your cities and states and ask yourself, are they in good financial shape? If not, why? Are crime and taxes high? Are companies and people leaving these cities? It’s not hard to figure out what the problems are.
Stop telling people they are racist if they don’t agree with you. And please stop saying “It’s a threat to democracy!}
They know what they should be doing. However, they got away with doing whatever they wanted for four years with no consequence until they lost the 2024 election. Stop trying to continue to throw the same policies at the American people who voted you out. This is the reason Trump was elected.
Democrats know what the problem is, but will they learn from it?
